The 2025–26 ABA League Second Division will be the 8th season of the ABA Second Division with teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia participating in it.

Format change

16 clubs will participate in the second division (12 based on the results in the domestic championships and up to 4 via wild card invitation).

Competition format is changed (similar to the european football competition system) in a way that 16 teams are grouped into 4 pots based on current team quality. All teams will share the same standings and will all compete in the same league system.

Each team will play 8 games during the regular season (against 2 teams from each of the four pots). Each team will have 4 home and 4 away games. Teams from the same country will not face each other in the regular season (with exception if there are 4 contestants from same country).

The top 8 teams from the regular season advance to the best-of-3 format Playoffs. The team with the better regular season record will hold the home-court advantage.[1]
