2013 Little League Intermediate World Series
The 2013 Little League Intermediate World Series was the inaugural edition of the Intermediate League World Series, a baseball tournament for players aged 11 to 13. Held from July 30 to August 5, 2013, at Max Baer Park in Livermore, California, the event featured twelve regional teams, six from the United States (including a host team) and six international qualifiers. The championship was won by the Izumisano Little League from Osaka, Japan, who defeated Collier Township, Pennsylvania, by a score of 10–1. Played on a 50-foot pitching mound with 70-foot base paths, this division serves as a bridge between standard Little League and full-scale baseball. As the first tournament of its kind, the 2013 series marked the beginning of what has become an annual international competition.
