1999 NBA season
1999 NBA season may refer to:
- 1998–99 NBA season, featuring the San Antonio Spurs defeating the New York Knicks in 1999 NBA Finals, 4–1 and the first championship each for Tim Duncan, Gregg Popovich and David Robinson. Karl Malone won the second of his two regular season MVP awards. This was a lockout season, that caused the schedule to be reduced to 50 games, down from its typical 82-game schedule. This was also Dirk Nowitzki's rookie season.
- 1999–2000 NBA season, featuring the Los Angeles Lakers defeating the Indiana Pacers in 2000 NBA Finals, 4–2. Shaquille O'Neal won his lone regular season MVP award. This was the first championship each for O'Neal and Kobe Bryant and this was the commencement of the NBA's most recent three-peat. This was also Charles Barkley's final season in the NBA.
