The 1949–50 season was Atlético Madrid's 46th season in existence and the club's 13th consecutive season in the top flight of Spanish football.
Summary
During summer the club appointed Helenio Herrera as its new head coach arriving from Real Valladolid.[1] Aimed by superb performances of Rafael Mujica, midfielder Larbi Benbarek,[2] Swedish Henrik Carlsson[3][4] and Forward Adrian Escudero[5] the team clinched the league title.
