Üçeylül is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Buharkent, Aydın Province, Turkey.[1] As of 2024, its population is 1,646.[2]
Geography
Üçeylül is located in the eastern part of Aydın Province, in the fertile valley of the Büyük Menderes River. It lies east of the Buharkent town center and is close to both the İzmir-Denizli highway (D.320) and railway, providing easy regional access.[3]
Economy
The neighbourhood’s economy relies heavily on agriculture, particularly fig, olive, citrus, and cotton cultivation. The region’s Mediterranean climate and rich alluvial soils make it suitable for year-round farming activities.[4] Some residents are also employed in nearby textile and food processing factories in Buharkent and Nazilli.[5]
Infrastructure
Üçeylül is connected to Buharkent via asphalt roads and has access to electricity, drinking water, and sewage systems. Public transportation is available to the town center. The neighbourhood includes a primary school and a family health center, contributing to basic education and healthcare needs.[6]
Culture and Community
The community celebrates national and regional holidays such as Republic Day (29 October), local fig harvest festivals, and traditional Aegean folk music events. Local cuisine features dishes like keşkek, zeytinyağlı fasulye, and kabak çiçeği dolması, all typical of Aydın Province.[7]
